2018 Rules Update

The 2018 rules have been posted on this site. The new or modified rules will be in bold as will some of the important rules from the last few years.
A couple rule changes that need to be noted are:

  1. Modifieds

5- One piece spoilers on cars with 604 crate motors.

14- securely bolted plastic outer mud cover allowed on right side wheels. Outer mud cover rings must be integral to the wheel or bead lock or be securely welded to wheel.

Rule 14 is to prevent the expandable ring and cover from becoming separated from the wheel.

  1. 360 Sprint Cars

18.5.5 Cylinder heads must be legal ASCS heads. If non-legal ASCS heads are used they must be 23 degree (+/- 2 degree) and a 1 7/8” restrictor Minimum 3 inches long must be installed in each injector stack.

The intent of this rule was to allow teams with older non ASCS legal headed motors to be able to use them with a 2" restrictor. After consulting with several engine builders it has been apparent that the new open headed motors are making substantially more power with the 2" restrictor than the legal ASCS motors. It is important to keep parity and not force teams to spend unneeded money on newer heads and injections to stay competitive therefore the restrictors have been reduced to 1 7/8".
