Elma, WA -
The weather tried to interrupt the nights action but was unsuccessful as Jesse Schlotfeldt picked up the Summer Challenge Series Race #1, Brenton Schnitzer won the IMCA Modified tune-up to next weeks Clash and Henry Corbin picked up the PHRA Dwarf Car win.
The first 360 Summer Challenge Series Race of 2025 was at Grays Harbor and the weather interrupted the first heat race after Destry Miller would get upside down. So after the brief weather and track work we scratched the 360 heat races and raced the main event with a invert of 4 from qualifying which put Levi Kuntz and Jesse Schlotfeltt on the front row. Schlotfeldt was able to take the lead on the outside coming out of turn 2 and lead all 25 laps for the win. After a caution for Kuntz, Colton Heath was able to hold on for second and Levi Hillier got up to 3rd, followed by Bill Rude in 4th, and Lane Taylor in 5th and Tim Martin in 6th. Chris Bullock won the random draw for the Right Rear Hoosier Tire and Colby Thornhill was quick time in qualifying.
Kyler Moore took the lead from the front row and led the first 5 laps until Scott Miller took over for one lap but Moore was able to battle back and lead until lap 23 when the fastest car on the track Brenton Schnitzer would take the lead and have issues on the final two corners but able to save it and take the win. Scott Miller was able to get around Kyler Moore for second and Moore would finish third followed by his dad Craig Moore in 4th and Jake Sorenson in 5th. Brenton Schnitzer and Clifton King would be your Elma Lanes Hard Chargers (+9). Heat race winners would go to Scott Miller, Austin Rognlin (4 for 4 this year), and Kyler Moore early in the night.
In the PHRA Dwarf Cars Henry Corbin III would take the lead and the red would come out for Jay Elliott after tumbling in turn 4 trying to correct his car. On the restart Jim Fisher would take the lead and Corbin III would pace him until lap 12 where Fisher seemed to have a problem and Corbin would get back by and the caution would come out for Mike Chadwick. Doug Pirtle would break on the restart from 3rd and Corbin III would take off and lead the rest of the way for the win. James Pavel would finish second, Steve Hyson third, Jim Fisher 4th and Jim Pavel 5th.
Grays Harbor Raceway is back Memorial Day weekend Saturday May 24th and May 25th with the Modified Clash, SportMods, and the NW Dwarf Cars, and a Giant Fireworks show after the races on Sunday!!!
