Central Washington State Fair to Sanction Summer Thunder Sprint Series and Washington Modified Tour!
The Central Washington Fair Association has awarded a multi-year contract to Funtime Promotions to sanction the racing events during the annual State Fair in September. Funtime Promotions will bring the Summer Thunder Sprint Series and the Washington Modified Tour to the event.
"We are pleased to add this prestigious event to our schedules," said Promoter Steve Beitler. "It's a great way to conclude the season with a two-day event for both series."
The Summer Thunder Sprint Series and the Washington Modified Tour will open their seasons with a two-day event at the Yakima Dirt Track April 1st & 2nd.
The addition of the fair event will bring the total dates to 14 for each of the series. Both of the Yakima weekends will have added purse money for the race teams.
"We are excited to be working with the Funtime Promotions group," said Greg Lybeck, Assistant General Manager at The State Fair Park. "We want to grow the fair and the racing events. Combining the fair event with the April event and adding two popular traveling series makes a lot of sense."
