16th Annual Shipwreck Beads Northwest Modified Nationals Is Coming!

July 24th and 25th will be a big weekend for the Shipwreck Beads Modifieds at Grays Harbor Raceway with the 16th Annual Shipwreck Beads Northwest Modified Nationals presented by Finishline Graphics is hitting the 3/8 banked clay oval. The Northwest Modified Nationals will feature many drivers from Grays Harbor Raceway, and around the Northwest. Dating back to the year 2000 Gus Cooper of Creswell, Oregon picked up the inaugural event. Past winners also include Brian Poppa, Kellen Chadwick, Jon DeBennedetti, Blair Shoemaker, the only Washington driver to win the event, Jesse Williamson, Jason Beaulieu, Kyle Casson, Mark Wauge, Jeremy Shank, and last year's winner Nick Trenchard who led a caution free feature event.

Grays Harbor Raceway locals Scott Miller, Tom Sweatman, James Wolfard, and other local talent will look to add another Washington driver to the list of winners. It won't be just the local drivers looking to be in the winner circle. Bubba Foster of Dayton, Oregon looked strong last Saturday night picking up the win in the Modified division. Mark Carrell of Redmond, Oregon has two wins at Grays Harbor Raceway this year, and multiple wins in the Northwest already. Lawrence O'Connor of Port Hardy, British Columbia has had strong runs at Grays Harbor Raceway as well.

The Pacific Hard Top Racing Association Dwarf Cars will also be on hand for the PHRA Dwarf Car Nationals. Last year Josh King of Medford, Oregon picked up the caution free feature event over Brock Peters of Eagle Point, Oregon and last year's preliminary night winner Henry Corbin III of Mollala, Oregon. The PHRA Dwarf cars have already been to Grays Harbor Raceway once this year with Corbin III picking up the feature event, with Tim Hester of Westland, Oregon and Hillsboro, Oregon driver Eric Berquist finishing in the top three.

Gates will open at 5:30 PM, and racing will start at 7PM both nights for the 16th Annual Shipwreck Beads Northwest Modified Nationals.
