Elma, Washington- Scott Miller found himself in victory lane Saturday April 20th at Grays Harbor Raceway. The Shelton native and four-time track champion would win the first race of the season in the Shipwreck Beads IMCA Modified feature at the 3/8-mile clay oval. The Blue Bear Park/Blondies Restaurant #26 Shaw would get the job done by leading the entire distance.

“It feels good to lead the whole race,” commented Miller, “I didn’t have any problems and we pretty much went green for thirty straight laps. For the first night with this car I couldn’t have asked for more.”

Miller through the offseason acquired a Larry Shaw chassis from Arkansas and was more than happy with its performance all night. The race was pretty much stoppage free except for the initial drop of the green flag which there was an incident which brought out a caution flag.

Kris Asche from Shelton placed his #50 Renegade in second followed by fellow Shelton native Del Schnitzer in third in the #44 entry. Carl Larson of Castle Rock was fourth in the Larson Trucking #55 entry and completing the top five was Tom Sweatman in his Sweatman Trucking/D&D Dyno #11 Rayburn in fifth. Earlier in the evening two-time and defending champion Joe German from Wishkah won in heat race action piloting his Wishkah Iron Works/Ozman Services Inc. #75X Skyrocket.
