Elma, Washington- Grays Harbor Raceway is back in action Saturday June 15th for the latest installment of the current campaign. The race will kick off the 2013 Wild Wild West Modified Shootout the first time 3/8-mile clay oval has ever started the Modified speedweek. This event will put the local Shipwreck Beads IMCA Modifieds contingent against the top teams on the Pacific Coast for what should be a fabulous contest of racing. 360 Sprints, Cut Rate Auto Parts Street Stocks, and Hornets are also on the schedule for the night.

In five Shipwreck Beads IMCA Modified events there have been four different winners. Two-time and defending track champion Joe German is the only driver to win more than one feature while Scott Miller, Craig Moore, and Josh Muller all have a single triumph each. Only one Wild Wild West Modified Shootout race has been completed at GHR and that was in 2011 when Brian Poppa would earn the victory.

Last week Reece Goetz became the first driver in the 360 Sprints to win a second feature in 2013. Joining him on the win list so far this year is defending champion J.J. Hickle and Evan Margeson. The same can be said for the Hornet ranks as Brian Norton earned his second straight victory last Saturday. Chad Norton and Jeff Daniel have managed a single victory each so far this season.

In the Cut Rate Auto Parts Street Stocks defending champion Jason Tole is coming of the huge Iron Man 100 victory. Missing the first race in April, Tole has three total starts and he has won on each occasion. Jack Parshall is the only other winner this year picking up the victory in the first race of the season. Will Tole’s winning streak be snapped this week?

Saturday night’s admission is Adults $13.00, Senior (62+)/Juniors (13-18)/Military $10.00, Youths (6-12) $5.00, Youths (5 and Under) FREE, Family Pass (Two Adults and Up To Four Youths) $30.00, and Premium Seating $20.00. Pit gates open at 2:30, front gates, 4:30, and racing starting at 6:30.

The Grays Harbor Raceway is known for its high speeds and side by side racing as well as its large track size. Hosting racing action from April to October regular classes include 360 Sprints, IMCA Modifieds, USAC Ford Focus Midgets, Street Stocks, Hornets, and for the first time the Northwest Extreme Winged Sprint Cars.
