Elma, Washington- As the 2013 season is about to begin for the American Sprint Car Series-Northwest Region fans will get a sneak preview on Saturday May 18th at Grays Harbor Raceway. The 3/8-mile clay oval will host a local/non-sanctioned event the weekend before the Spring Challenge. It will give teams across the Pacific Northwest one last chance to get some valuable track time at the Elma facility.

“Anytime you can get more track time to dial yourself in the better,” commented defending Grays Harbor Raceway track champion J.J. Hickle, “especially when the race so happens to be the weekend before the big ASCS-Northwest opener.”

Originally when the schedule came out the 360 Sprints had night off but just a few weeks earlier the decision was made to add the class to the card. So far in the first two 360 shows at GHR it has been the young guns visiting victory lane. The event will be ran alongside the first annual Cut Rate Auto Parts Iron Man 100 Street Stock race which will be $650.

Admission prices into the races are Adults $13.00, Senior (62+)/Juniors (13-18)/Military $10.00, Youths (6-12) $5.00, Youths (5 and Under) FREE, Family Pass (Two Adults and Up To Four Youths) $30.00, and Premium Seating $20.00. Pit gates open at 2:30, front gates, 4:30, and racing starting at 6:30.

The Grays Harbor Raceway is known for its high speeds and side by side racing as well as its large track size. Hosting racing action from April to October regular classes include 360 Sprints, IMCA Modifieds, USAC Ford Focus Midgets, Street Stocks, Hornets, and for the first time the Northwest Extreme Winged Sprint Cars.
