Elma, Washington- On Saturday April 20th the only thing to slow J.J. Hickle down was a debris caution in the early goings of the Season Opening 360 Sprint feature at Grays Harbor Raceway. He would lead the entire distance to earn his second consecutive victory in the division after winning last year’s finale to earn his first championship that year as well. It would also be the second time in two years that the pilot of the Meyer Electric/Kitsap Powdercoating #3 XXX machine had visited victory lane on opening night.
“It always feels good to get a win it’s really why you show up everytime,” state Hickle, “the track was hammer down and you really couldn’t make any mistakes or you would get passed.”
Evan Margeson from Tacoma ended the evening finishing second in the TFC Plating #50 XXX and Enumclaw’s Henry Van Dam in his Kovash Logging/Johanson Excavating #33V A.R.T. in third. The top five was completed with Jay Cole from Shelton in the Our Community Credit Union/Bulldog Trailers #0J in fourth and Reece Goetz crossing the line in fifth in the Great Western Transport/Elma Lanes #9R Eagle. Goetz was quickest in qualifying with a lap at 12.419 seconds and Cole was the victor in the only heat race of the night.
