Three Big Days of Racing at Grays Harbor Raceway
Grays Harbor Raceway fans will get to see three big days of racing at the fast high banked 3/8’s mile clay oval located at the Fairgrounds in Elma, Washington, during the running of the Little Creek Casino & Resort 4th annual Fred Brownfield Memorial ASCS National Sprint Car Tour and a special visit by new shareholder and NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Greg Biffle.
Highlighting the weekend will be the Lucas Oil ASCS National events on Friday and Saturday, as well as an appearance of NASCAR Driving Star Greg Biffle from Vancouver, Washington, Biffle will be on hand Friday night for an autograph session at 4:30.
The action will start Thursday as the North West Wingless Sprint and Midget Tour rolls into town, drivers from all over the northwest will be on hand for their second visit of the year. There will be a great mix of drivers as some of the ASCS National drivers will take off their wings and battle the top wingless drivers in the Northwest. Local drivers expected to race include Jeff Bell who won the last NWWT event in June, Shawn Rice, Dan Dunlap, and current point’s leader Seth Bergman.
Friday will see day one of the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour along with the DAA Northwest Spec Late Model Series presented by Sherwin Williams. Over 50 of the best 360 Winged Sprint Car drivers in the country will be on hand. Friday’s show will be a complete event with heat races, B-Mains and A-Mains. The Late Models will qualify, run a trophy dash, heats and a main event.
Saturday Night will see another complete ASCS show, highlighted by the $10,092 to win Fred Brownfield Memorial. All the top 360 Sprint car drivers in the country, that will include 14 states and three Canadian provinces will be at Grays Harbor Raceway including last year’s winner Travis Rylat from Forney, Texas, and 2009 ASCS National Champion and winner of the first two Fred Brownfield Memorial Races, Shane Stewart from Bixby Oklahoma, current points leader Jason Johnson from Eunice, Louisiana, and Brady Bacon from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. In all their will be 18 ASCS National drivers here this weekend, couple that with the large contingent of Northwest drivers that will include Roger Crockett from Medford the current ASCS Northwest points leader, Jason Solwold from Burlington, Mitch Olson from Tacoma, Grays Harbor Raceway points leader Seth Bergman from Snohomish, Henry Van Dam from Enumclaw, along with locals Jay Cole from Shelton and 2009 Grays Harbor Raceway Champion Glenn Borden Jr. from Raymond.
On Thursday the front gate opens at 4:30 pm, qualifying at 5:30 and racing to start around 6:30. Friday and Saturday tickets will go on sale at noon, front gate will open at 3:30 and the racing to start around 7:00 pm.
